Founded in 1958, Hainan University is located in the costal city of Haikou, which is famous for the beautiful beach and gentle breeze. In September 1996, the Ministry of Education authorized Hainan University to enroll foreign students. Ever since then, more than 2,000 foreign students from nearly 30 countries and regions have studied Chinese and other programs.
