Why Study in SDUW
At present, there are 12 schools and one teaching department at SDUW, offering 46 Bachelor’s Degree programs spanning 8 general disciplines, namely, Literature, Art, Law, Economics, Management, Science, Engineering and Medicine. The university can recruit postgraduate students in 25 first-level disciplines, doctoral students in 20 first-level disciplines, and post-doctoral students in 17 first-level disciplines, forming a multi-level educational system to cultivate doctoral students, postgraduate students, undergraduate students and international students.
Over the years, Shandong University, Weihai has established a broad international network for educational cooperation and has established cooperative relations with 120 well-known universities in 15 countries and regions, namely Australia, the U.S., the U.K., France, Germany, Italy, The Republic of Korea, Japan, Spain, Russia, Sweden, Canada, New Zealand, Singapore as well as Taiwan region of China.
SDUW has always attached great importance to students’ innovative spirits and practical skills, and it has been promoting “Four Experiences” among the students, namely, SDUW Study Experiences, Overseas Study Experiences, Second Campus Study Experiences, and Social Practice Experiences. Overseas learning experiences can be realized by six-month or one-year study abroad programs, “1+2+1” or “2+2” dual bachelor degree programs, “3+1+1” bachelor-master package programs as well as short-term summer programs at its partner universities. Furthermore, SDUW has established President’s Scholarships to provide the students with financial support. Since 2003, SDUW has sent almost 5,000 students to study overseas, and the number of students sent each year has been increasing steadily.
