Weifang University which is approved by the Ministry of Education as a full-time regular higher education university has a history of 57 years. It lies in the famous historical cultural city ofWeifangwhich is also known as the Kite Capital of the world with beautiful scenery. Covering an area of 1,200,000 square meters, the university is awarded as “Garden Style Campus” by provincial government. Characterized with a perfect combination of classical Chinese style and modern style with lakes, mountains and small forest on campus, the university provides an ideal place for moral breeding and knowledge learning.

The university has 63 specialties in natural sciences,engineering,literature,economics,law,history,education,literature, management and agriculture. Students totaling over 23,000 come from 29 different provinces, municipalities or autonomous regions. WFU has always been active in international cooperation and exchanges. Friendly academic exchanges and cooperation relations have been established with universities in theKorea,Japan,USA,Canada,Britain and Austria.

The university is active in international cooperation and exchange. Different universities from South Korea,Japan, US,Canada,Britain and Austriahave established sister-relationship with WFU. From 2001, WFU was qualified to accept international students, over 300 international students from US, South Korea, Japan, Thailand, Malaysia and other countries have studied in WFU.

Now there is an excellent faculty team at the university, consisting of academicians, professors, and outstanding experts with provincial and national credentials. The university boasts 2110 full-time teaching staff, of which 1213 are master degree and doctoral degree, 657 are senior  title of profession,
