International Finance Doctor Program (in English)

Shanghai University of Finance and Economics (SUFE), founded in 1917, is one of oldest and best financial university in China. It has the popular English-Medium BBA course. Besides, it is also prestigious for Training Chinese as a Foreign Language, fully preparing you to pass the HSK. SUFE regularly collaborates with global institutions and foreign universities, like IBM, EDI Webster University etc.

Finance School of SUFE has a high-level faculty and cultivates undergraduate students, master degree students and PhD candidates. In 1996 and 2001, finance subjects are selected as key subjects in the Education Committee of Shanghai Government. Finance subjects have a good reputation and a great influence in academic research field. There are International Finance Master & PhD Program which are open to international students. Except for the language courses, all the other courses in the program are taught in English. The thesis and thesis defense are also going to be done in English. The total time for master program is two years, and doctoral program is three years. Every year the master program will accept about 15 students and PhD program can accept 5 students. I Courses Doctor Program: Chinese Language, Political Economics, A General Introduction of China, Advanced International Macroeconomics, Advanced Financial Econometrics, Seminar on International Finance, Issues on Corporate Finance, Investment Banking, and Research on Foreign Exchange Markets. Accommodation and Service

All the international students can live in the International Students Apartment on campus. There are two types of room: single room and two-bed room. These two kinds of room are equipped with the independent toilet, air-conditioning, desk and chair, wardrobe , laundry and bedding items. It also offers broadband internet access and landline.

* A deposit of RMB 800 is to be paid when checking in and will be refunded when checking out.
* Electricity bills are based on the metered consumption. A deposit of RMB 100 of electricity bill is to be paid in No.8 and No. 7 building when checking in. Electricity bill in No. 1 building is to be paid monthly.
* Laundry fee is RMB 3 every time. The deposit of laundry card is RMB 10.

3 Steps to Apply to a Chinese University

1.Aged between 18 and 45 years old
2.Master degree or equivalent or above.
3.Be in good health and foreigners
4.Above 550(paper based) and 80(computer based) or 6.5 in IELTS

1.Photocopy of valid passport
With photo, passport number &expiration date and name included.

2.Passport-sized photo
A passport-sized photo taken recently of the applicant.

3.Master's degree diploma
Graduation certificate should be in Chinese or English.If not, it should be translated into Chinese or English and be notarized.

4.Transcript of postgraduate school

5.Two recommendation letters
From professor,associate professor or equivalents.

6.Certificate of English proficiency test
IELTS or TOEFl will only be required if the applicant is not a native English speaker.

7.Personal Statement
