Orignally founded in 1960, Beijing University of Technolog is located in the center of Beijing. Ranked as one of the 100 key universities for the 21st century, it is also served as the Badminton and Rhythmic Gymnastics venue for the 2008 Olympic Games. The courses available there are various, including Biomedical Engineering, Acounting, Advertising and Applied Chemistry. BJUT welcomes students from all over the world.

Study at Beijing University of Technology

There are two terms in an academic year at Beijing Tech. Academic degrees (bachelors, masters, and doctorate) and advanced studies start the new term at the beginning of September. Students for language training can enter the school for any term.

The first term is from September 1 to January10. The second term is from February 25 to June 30. Each term lasts about 18 to 20 weeks. In addition to the summer and winter vacations, there is one day off on January 1st (New Year's Day), three days off starting May 1st (May Day), and three days off starting on October 1st (Chinese National Day).

Classes are active Monday through Friday. Class time is from 8:10 to 11:30 in the morning and 1:00 to 2:30 in the afternoon. Students should go to class on time and not be absent from class without permission.

Those who cannot go to class because of personal reasons must ask for leave according to the necessary procedure. Being absent and late will affect final marks.

Students should take all the examinations required by the university's teaching program. If a student is absent from 48 or more hours of class per term, he/she will be disqualified from examinations.

Accommodation


The university provides a self-catering student dormitory (also known asInternationalStudentCenter) for all international students, which locates just opposite to the university’s west entrance. We do our best to offer you a tidy, safe and convenient living environment. 

The dormitory has 88 twin rooms accommodating 176 students. Every room is equipped with two wardrobes, two beds, a TV, internet sockets, a telephone and an air-conditioner, etc. Among the 88 rooms, 28 rooms are also equipped with a private toilet and shower. 

In the public sections of the dormitory, you will find a computer room (all computers are connected with internet), a reading room, a multifunction room and a gym. Laundry service is provided on the first floor (or ground floor). On each floor there are public toilets and 24 hours showers. Shared kitchen is available from the second to the sixth floor. Paid phone and fax service is available at the 24/7 reception.

Entry Requirements

Applicants should graduate from a high school, be in good health.
Those who apply for this major have passed the level-3 HSK or above, Those who have failed to pass the HSK can first apply for study in the Chinese Language Programs for a full year or half year in ZZU before their major studies.
