HITSZ has first class teaching facilities as well as an excellent faculty team. Among all the full time faculty members in HITSZ, 100% are doctoral degree holders, 67% have either studied or lived abroad, 60% are entitled “High Level Talents of Shenzhen”, 10 professors have been accepted by the national “Recruitment Program of Global Experts”, and 14 professors were entitled “Excellent Talents of the New Century” by the Ministry of Education. There are about 3000 master and doctoral candidates on campus now. In HITSZ, all major courses are taught in English or bilingually in English and Chinese with original English textbooks.


ProgramAbout the Program

Objectives
The PhD program in Electronic & Information Engineering provides students with solid theory and the latest technological knowledge. Students will have a broad choice on the research topics in telecommunication engineering, signal and system, biomedical engineering, integrated circuits, optical communications, and micro/nano photonics. Students will acquire the latest technical know-how by engaging in specialized subjects in a chosen area that focus on the cutting edge issues. After the program, students are expected to engage in high level scientific research, and assume leadership role in their related fields.
Duration
Duration of program is between 3-4 years with course works in the first year, followed by a dissertation project.

Credit Units
Students need to successfully complete minimum 14 credits, among which 10 must be core courses, 3 must be elective courses, and 1 must be academic report.

Established in 1920, Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT) has remained as one of the key universities supported by the Chinese central government. HIT was designated in 1996 as one of the first national leading universities to be included in“Project 211” for preferential support, and became one of the top nine national leading universities in China to be included in “Project 985”in 1999. These nine universities later became the C9 League in 2009 which is referred to as the Chinese equivalent of the US Ivy League. The C9 League was formed to promote more resources sharing, cooperative training, and joint research projects among the best universities in China.
