ProgramAbout the Program

BSc International Economics and Trade By the end of your degree course you will have: a deep understanding of globalisation, trade and economic policy analytical and practical tools with which to understand China's place in the world economy the skills of a well-trained economist with a focus on international economics and advanced econometric analysis Year one This programme is designed for international students whose first language is not English or whose qualifications were not obtained in an English-medium education system. Other students can skip this year. You will develop your English language skills so that you can make the most of your degree programme. The course is intensive and is structured to ensure you maximise your time in and outside of lecture rooms. In your preliminary year, you will: work in a small group be encouraged to undertake activities that help you develop your fluency in English learn how to present your work in public be taught techniques to keep improving your English develop habits for lifelong learning By the time you complete your preliminary year, you will have: a deep knowledge of English grammar expanded your vocabulary so that you are familiar with relevant technical terms skills to analyse complex texts and extract information in order to build academic arguments Preliminary year modules specifically for economics students include: Introduction to Business and Economics Foundation Calculus and Mathematical Techniques Examination results in your preliminary year do not influence your final degree classification. However, it is necessary to complete these programmes and pass all English modules in order to progress to the second year. Year two You will be introduced to the the fundamentals of economics. In your second year (also referred to as a qualifying year), the emphasis is on: ensuring you develop a solid grounding in economic theory and quantitative methods deepening your understanding of the relevance of these methods in the study of economic questions of cultural, political or social importance Your modules might include: Introduction to Microeconomics Introduction to Macroeconomics Economic Integration I and II Mathematical Economics Introductory Econometrics Year three In year three (the equivalent of year two at The University of Nottingham in the UK), you will develop your knowledge of: microeconomics, macroeconomics and international economics quantitative methods, such as time series, panel and cross-sectional econometrics and mathematical economics major sub-disciplines of economics, including financial and monetary economics, international trade and development economics, public and labour economics Year four In your final year, you will examine major themes in economics and international economics in substantially greater detail. You are given the opportunity to develop your own specialised interests through combinations of advanced modules that build on major sub-discipline topics studied in previous years. In addition, you will receive advanced instruction in econometric methods (theory and practice) and mathematical economics. You will get the chance to demonstrate your understanding of economics concepts through an independently researched dissertation.

The University is located in Ningbo Higher Education Park, a leafy suburb on the outskirts of the city. The attractive, meticulously landscaped campus features many attractive spaces, including a Chinese garden and an English garden to symbolise the unique partnership behind the University's success. Distinctive canals weave through the University's extensive grounds, attracting many different types of birds.
 
Most of the students live in halls of residence. These are situated on a conveniently situated campus high street that has a wide range of shops, restaurants and other spaces for relaxation and recreation. 
 
International staff have the option of living in comfortable, modern apartments within walking distance of the administration block, teaching buildings and science and engineering laboratories. The University also has a staff hotel on campus in order to accommodate visiting lecturers and delegates to academic conferences and seminars.
 
The University's student population has grown from just over 250 to more than 5,000 undergraduate and postgraduate students. This number is expected to increase considerably as the University expands its range of science and engineering degree programmes and attracts more international students from Asia and elsewhere.  
 
Chinese undergraduate students are selected from most provinces on the basis of their college entrance examinations. Competition is stiff for entry to our unique university in China, and students are required to have a minimum level of English to be accepted for degree programmes. 
 
The University is familiar with a wide range of overseas school-leaving qualifications and works closely with the British Council, both in the UK and abroad. Accommodation

The residences and fees

The University has two buildings designated for international students, building 11 and building 18. All rooms are fully furnished and equipped with a telephone and computer point which enable students to make and receive telephone calls and access the University's data network from their bedrooms.

These are UNNC residences in which students are responsible for providing and cooking their own food. Kitchens or common rooms are provided in which students may prepare their own food, or meals may be bought from the University canteen or cafe on the campus.

Bed linen is provided, and will be changed twice a month free of charge. Students will need to supply their own kitchen utensils. All UNNC student houses are non-smoking, including student bedrooms.

3.   HSK Certificate (No need for English-taught program)

4.   Academic transcript of high school

5.   Graduation certificate of high school
Gradution certificate should be in Chinese or English.If not,it should be translated into Chinese or English and be notarized.
