Chemical Engineering and Industrial Biological Engineering

Chemical Engineering and Industrial Biological Engineering is a field of scientific engineering that studies the transformation, shape, state, and composition of matter in the chemical industry and its related industries. The core of Chemical Engineering is to achieve the conversion of matter through chemical or biological reactions and to either purify or process a product through chemical reactions. This major will cultivate students to be competent in the Petrochemical Industry, in environmental protection and traditional Petrochemical Industries fields such as in energy and food. Also being taught is bioengineering, biochemistry engineering, biomedical engineering and such newly developing industries. (Individuals with color blindness are not accepted into this major) Main courses include Mathematics, Physics, Fundamentals of Computer, Inorganic Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Instrumental Analysis, Physical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Principles of Chemical Engineering, Thermodynamics of Chemical Engineering, Chemical Reaction Engineering, Design of Chemical Engineering, Analogue and Optimization of Chemical Engineering, Transport Processes in Chemical Engineering, Principles of Genetic Engineering, Cell Culture Engineering, and Industrial Microbiology etc. Application Schedule On-line application: March 1 – March16, 2012.

Hardcopies of application materials due: March 19 - March 30, 2012.

Entrance Examination (1) Subjects of Written Examination for Science, Engineering and Management Programs: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and English.

(2) Subjects of Written Examination for Law, Humanities and Social Sciences Programs: Basic Chinese Language, Chinese Writing, General Knowledge, and English.

(3) Subjects of Written Examination for Arts and Design Programs: Chinese Writing, General Knowledge, Sketch, Quick Sketch, and Color Painting.

Extra exams are requested for some programs: Sketch for Architecture Program, Oral Test for English and Japanese Programs, and Mathematics for Experimental Class of Social Sciences and Psychology.

Interview may also be requested by some department/schools. Date of Entrance Examination Written Examination: May 12 - 13, 2012

3 Steps to Apply to a Chinese University

1. Foreign citizens under 25 and in good health
2. Graduation from senior high school;
3. HSK Band 6 / new HSK Band 5 or aboveHydraulic and Hydropower Engineering.

1.  Photocopy of valid passport
With photo, passport number &expiration date and name included.

2.  Passport-sized photo
A passport-sized photo taken recently of the applicant.

3.  Graduation certificate of high school
Graduation certificate should be in Chinese or English.If not, it should be translated into Chinese or English and be notarized.

4.  Academic transcript of high school

5.  HSK Certificate (No need for English-taught program)
Level 3 or above

6.  Two recommendation letters
From professor,associate professor or equivalents.

7.  A notarization of guarantor in China
Only for applicants under 18 years old.
