Located in the downtown area of Huangshi, the second largest city by the Yangtze River in Hubei Province, Hubei Normal University has a campus of 1.4 square kilometers with a total floor space of some 534,300 square meters. Hubei Normal University consists of 17 colleges and departments as well as 3 secondary institutes. It offers courses for 26 Master’s degree programs, 42 Bachelor’s degree programs and 18 diploma programs, covering 7 disciplines, including literature, history, economics, law, education, science and engineering. The university has constructed 2 state-level characteristic specialties, 8 provincial key and characteristic disciplines, 6 provincial brand specialties and 18 excellent courses in the province.

Currently there are some 20,000 full-time students on the campus. Hubei Normal University has a highly qualified faculty and staff of about 1300 members, many of whom enjoy high prestige in their respective academic circles in China.

The university library, considered as one of the several excellent libraries in Hubei Province, has a collection of books totaling over 1.61 million volumes and 3,500 odd kinds of Chinese and foreign language periodicals. Moreover, the campus network center of HBNU is one of the 38 PoPs of China Education and Research Network. The university has succeeded in establishing the State-Level Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center of Biology, 4 provincial experimental teaching demonstration centers, 1 provincial key laboratory and 1 provincial research center of humanity and social sciences.

The university has various kinds of service organizations and facilities, such as supermarkets, western food canteens, post office, clinic, banks, theaters, computer centers, gymnasium, stadiums, students’ activity centers, etc. which make HBNU a desirable environment to study and live in.

In recent 5 years, HBNU has presided about 400 research projects，among which some are funded by the National Science Foundation and Hubei Provincial Department of Education. In recent 5 years, HBNU has published 92 academic monographs and textbooks and 5,237 treatises, among which 434 treatises are indexed by some famous index systems, such as SCI, EI, SSCI, AHCI, and ISPT, etc.

3 Steps to Apply to a Chinese University

1. High school graduate
2. Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens with a valid passport

1.  Photocopy of valid passport
With photo, passport number &expiration date and name included.

2.  Passport-sized photo
A passport-sized photo taken recently of the applicant.

3.  Graduation certificate of high school
Graduation certificate should be in Chinese or English.If not, it should be translated into Chinese or English and be notarized.

4.  Academic transcript of high school

5.  HSK Certificate (No need for English-taught program)
