ProgramAbout the Program

This discipline attaches great importance to academic exchanges and actively carries out international academic exchanges and cooperation. Well-known foreign experts and scholars are often invited to give lectures at the school, and experts and professors are often invited to visit and give lectures abroad, and young teachers are sent abroad for further study. In recent years, it has become increasingly active in exchange visits and academic activities with scholars from France, Canada, the United States, Japan, Germany and other countries. It has maintained close cooperative relations and regular personnel exchanges with well-known foreign universities such as Lille University of Science and Technology, Vanache University, Klaimon-Ferrand University, Kyoto University in Japan, Nagoya Institute of Technology, Berlin University of Applied Sciences in Germany, University of Pittsburgh in the United States, Chunti University in the Netherlands, etc., and sends visiting scholars and advanced students to each other. Extensive academic exchanges and cooperation enable the discipline to timely learn from and absorb advanced technological achievements and school-running experience at home and abroad, which plays a very important role in accelerating the pace of discipline construction, improving the academic level and self-quality of teachers, and making the quality of talent training in this discipline, and at the same time expanding the prestige of the international academic community.

About China Three Gorges University

China Three Gorges University（CTGU） was founded with approval of the Ministry of Education. CTGU is a comprehensive university, which comprises the former University of Hydraulic & Electric Engineering/Yichang and Hubei Three Gorges University, and is one of the key universities which are being constructed in Hubei Province. The history of CTGU dates back to 1923, and it has experienced the construction of “Project 211”. Besides, CTGU is one of the first universities which are conferred the qualification of recruiting international students, and it was awarded as “Excellent” in the Undergraduate Teaching Evaluation of General Universities organized by the Ministry of Education in 2005.

China Three Gorges University has a total area of 252 hectares. There are 59 various laboratories(lab centers), and the total value of teaching and research equipment is RMB 190 million yuan. The university has 1 national key field scientific observation station, 5 provincial or ministerial key laboratories, 2 provincial engineering technology research center, and 1 provincial key research base for humanities and social science. Now the frameworks of 5 discipline groups, i.e. engineering of hydroelectric energy, hazard protection and environment, computer information technology and control engineering, Three Gorges culture and tourism, and life science and biological technology, have been under construction.


China Three Gorges University has already established cooperative relationships with more than 70 universities and research institutions in France, Germany, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, South Korea, Australia, the USA, Canada, Japan, and elsewhere. The cooperation extends to teaching, scientific research, and student exchanges.

At present, cooperation has made great progress such as the development of a dynamic detector with Blaise Pascal University, France, hydraulic development collaboration with Berlin University of Applied Sciences, Germany, rock-water heat coupling research with the University of Lille, France, reservoir optimized management research with the University of Twente, Netherlands, ... Also, the 2+2 Undergraduate Exchange Program with South Bank University in London, United Kingdom, allows students to spend 2 years on CTGU campus and the other 2 years in the U.K. Students also have access to SQA HND Program, and the 3+2 Master Program with University of Leicester

ENROLL IN CHINA

Entry Requirements

1. Foreign citizenship with valid passport.
Note: The applicants should hold the valid foreign passport or nationality certificate more than 4 years. In the latest 4 years (up to April 30 of the enrollment year), the applicants lived in a foreign country more than 2 years (the actual living abroad for more than 9 months in a year can be counted as one year, subject to the entry and exit stamps).
2. Chinese Friendly; good physical and mental health; hardworking; academically excellent.
3. The requirements for applicants’ degree and age are that applicants must:
（1）be a holder of high school diploma or its equivalent under the age of 25 when applying for an undergraduate program;
（2）be a holder of a Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent under the age of 35 when applying for a Master’s program;
（3）be a holder of a Master’s degree or its equivalent under the age of 40 when applying for a doctoral program;

Application Materials

1. Scanned copy of valid ordinary passport (personal information page).
2. Notarized highest diploma or degree certificate issued directly by university with official stamp and signature; Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized Chinese or English translations.
3. Academic transcripts of the highest diploma (Transcripts in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized Chinese or English translations.);
4. A Study Plan or Research Proposal (written in Chinese or English);
5. Two Recommendation Letters signed by professors or associate professors for postgraduate programs applicants. (written in Chinese or English);
6. A 3-5 minutes video clip to introduce yourself in English or Chinese. (Please send the video named by the passport number and your full name to our official email)
7. Non-Criminal Record Certificate.
8. Foreigner Physical Examination Form valid within 6 months (photocopy). 
9. The copy of valid HSK Certificate or English level certificate if have;
10. Financial Support Statement should be provided by the Local Government Scholarship Applicants & Self-support applicants
11. Other documents (Title Lists of Published Papers or Introductions of Research programs)
