The School of Earth Sciences and Resources of Chang'an University is a basic research-oriented college characterized by geology and resource exploration engineering (including oil and gas), geology (including geoinformation science), resource exploration engineering (including oil and gas), mineral processing engineering (including gemology) as the traditional advantageous disciplines, and geoinformation science and technology as the new discipline growth point. Professor Zhang Bosheng, a famous geologist, founder of the earth's crust wave mosaic structure and academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, has laid a good foundation for the development and construction of the college, and under the leadership of mineral depositologist Academician Tang Zheng and academician Mao Jingwen, the college has become one of the important bases for the training of geoscientists, mineral resources exploration experts, treasure and jade entrepreneurs and geoinformation science scientists in China.
