Chang'an University's Internet of Things Engineering major began to enroll students in network engineering (Internet of Things) in September 2011, and after the Ministry of Education officially approved the establishment of the Internet of Things engineering major in February 2012, it has officially enrolled students in September 2012. There are 24 full-time teachers in this major, including 3 professors, 10 associate professors and 11 lecturers, forming a teaching and research team composed of provincial innovative talents and young outstanding talents.
This major attaches great importance to the intersection and integration of computer technology and Internet of Things technology and the application of Internet of Things information security, and emphasizes both theory and practice in the training process. Two national online open courses, including "Network Video Surveillance Technology", have been opened. Teachers of this major participated in the "facing the intelligent automobile industry chain, building a multidisciplinary cross-integration large team and large platform, cultivating top-notch innovative talents" won the special prize of Shaanxi Province Higher Education Teaching Achievements, presided over more than 10 provincial and school-level education reform projects such as "English MOOC Construction of Cloud Computing Courses" and "Reform of Online and Offline Hybrid Teaching Mode of Operating System", and published more than 10 excellent teaching materials such as "Communication Principles and Communication Technology" and "Information Hidden Technology", including "Signals and Systems" English textbooks.
