Ningbo University maintains close links and intercollegiate cooperation with 47 well-known institutions of higher learning in Canada, Germany, France, Britain, USA, Sweden, Japan, South Korea and Australia. The success of the international exchanges can be exemplified by its successful China-Canada joint-educational program and its other programs for international students from Japan and other foreign countries. It also has successful cooperation and exchanges with institutions of higher learning and educational agencies in Hong Kong and Taiwan. Up to now it has signed cooperative agreements with The Chinese Culture University of Taiwan, Chaoyang University of Technology, Chihlee Institute of Commerce, and Taiwan Marine University, etc.
Located in Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province, Ningbo University is generally consisted of three campuses, the east campus which is the main campus, the west campus and the north campus. All the international students can live on campus.
Room Price:
The International Student Hostel consist of 4 kinds of rooms, including 261 small single rooms, 76 double rooms, 16 large single rooms and 10 suites.
Small Single Room:
Offers:1) a business center, lecture hall, coffee bar, shared kitchen, laundry room, storage room and leisure space.
2) There is also the provision for temporary accommodation for students' friends and relatives.
Double Room:
RMB 1200 per month
Note: The fees listed above include the room fees only. Additional accommodations, such as water, electricity and network, etc, are surcharged and will be covered by the tenant.
RMB 1800 per month ( RMB 900 per person per month)
Rules of Accommodation
a. While registering, you should submit valid ID credentials as well as other proofs, and then fill out the accommodation registration form, check the list of articles distributed for daily use, pay RMB1,000 as the deposit money which will be returned back to you while leaving the university. Accommodation will be available only if the above-mentioned formalities have been settled down.
b. The number and names of students sharing a dormitory should be strictly in accordance with the registered number and names. No guest should stay overnight, including the schoolmates. And the bed is not transferable, either.
c. With the consideration of security, do not lend your key to your dormitory to others or borrow keys from others; and when you are out, please shut the door as well as the windows properly.
d. Do not bring into the building animals and other unclean or dangerous articles, such as articles easy to burn or explode, or poisonous or radioactive materials. Do not burn anything or set off fireworks in the building.
e. It is strictly prohibited to take such illegal activities as fighting, gambling, taking drugs, calling prostitute in the building, or to put up dirty posters, to distribute dirty books, pictures or photos, or to play dirty records, video tapes or Video CD.
f. Do not have excessive drinking, making noise, or play records or CDs with too high sound.
g. To ensure a tidy, comfortable living condition, please do not spit improperly or litter, or throw anything out of the window.
h. To ensure security and avoid conflagration, please put out any possible sources of fire(e.g. cigarette stub),and cut off all the power resources when you leave your room.
i. It is strictly prohibited to use unauthorized electric heating devices or lay electric wires or fix other electric appliances in the dormitory. If there is any violation, the person(s) concerned will be fined upon the situation.
j. Take care of the articles distributed for daily use and public facilities. Compensation must be treated according to the corresponding regulation(s).
4.1 Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens and valid foreign passport holders.
4.2 Under the age of 35 for master’s degree programs (Age limit is flexible for healthy applicants with certain work experience and high academic ability). Applicants must be Bachelor’s degree holders (Those who provide pre-graduation certificate or student status certificate at application MUST provide Bachelor's degree diploma no later than registration).
4.3 With proper moral conduct, in good health with no infectious disease or any physical or mental diseases that may affect the normal study.
4.4 Applicants who have given up their original Chinese citizenship (including residents in Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan) and become foreign citizens shall provide the documents certifying the cancellation of Chinese citizenship and household registration, according to the policy of the Ministry of Education of the PRC.
If the applicant has acquired foreign citizenship automatically at the time of birth in a foreign country, whose parents were both Chinese citizens, or one of the parents was a Chinese citizen, parent’s (with Chinese citizenship) permanent resident in foreign country should be obtained prior to the birth of applicant.
Note: If the applicant is concluded to have Chinese citizenship by the Chinese public security department after application, admission or enrollment, the applicant will be disqualified from application, admission or enrollment or withdrawal from school will be required.
4.5 Language Proficiency
Applicants should meet with Language Proficiency Requirements of Master Degree Programs at Ningbo University for International Applicants.
