About Dalian Medical University (DMU)

Dalian Medical University (DMU) was founded in 1947 and is the oldest formal medical college in the northeast of China. It was formerly known as Guandong Medical College but was changed to its current name when the People's Republic of China was founded. DMU was formally opened on May 4, 1947, with 203 students.

DMU is a multi-disciplinary medical university and one of the largest medical universities in China. It is also a popular education hub for international students who want to take an MBBS. DMU has more than a thousand overseas students from 82 different countries studying different degree programs. 

DMU was one of the first few universities in China that offered the MBBS degree. Its medical degree is recognized by the World Health Organization (WHO) and many medical authorities in foreign countries. DMU is the national demonstration base of international students by the Ministry of Education. It is also one of the first batches of 30 universities that were allowed to offer English-based courses in MBBS, Oral Medicine, Nursing and more. Besides medical degrees, DMU offers programs in other fields like science, engineering, management, arts, law, and philosophy.

The university has 4 independent international student apartment buildings with 680 rooms, all equipped with independent bathrooms, which can meet the needs of international students. The campus is equipped with a central monitoring system in every corner, and there are 24-hour security guards on duty patrol to ensure the safety and stability of the campus.

Note:

1. Due to cultural integration and safety concerns, single rooms are not available for freshmen during the first semester.

2. All Chinese Government scholarship students will be provided with a room in accordance with the requirements of the China Scholarship Council of the Ministry of Education

The international Student Apartment No. 19 was built in 2012 and has 270 rooms. Both male and female students can apply, but most of them live in female students.

Built in 2007, the 139-room apartment complex is open to both men and women.

The apartment was built in 2007 and consists of 194 rooms with a separate toilet and basic furnishings.

1# International Student Apartment

Built in 2007, the apartment has 124 rooms with separate bathrooms and basic office furniture.

If you want to stay off-campus, you may also do so. There are many hostels, hotels, and apartments around the campus. For hostels, the cost ranges from 5300 to 8000 RMB/YEAR depending on your room type. Apartments can cost up to 24000 to 49000 RMB/YEAR. To save, you can share with other students and divide the cost. Lastly, hotels can cost your 12,000 to 22,000 RMB/YEAR depending on your room.

Notes:

You will need to book the accommodation after you have been accepted.

You can choose to live on campus or off campus in private accommodation.

3 Steps to Apply to a Chinese University

1.Applicant should be between 18 and 25
2.Applicant should hold high school graduation or equivalent to a Chinese high school graduate
3.HSK level 3

1.Photocopy of valid passport
With photo, passport number &expiration date and name included.

2.Passport-sized photo
A passport-sized photo taken recently of the applicant.

3.Graducation Certificate of High school
Graduation Certificate should be in English or Chinese, if not，it should be translated into English or Chinese and be notarized

4.Academic transcript of high school

5.HSK Certificate (No need for English-taught program)

6.Photocopy of 1st page to 8th page of your valid passport (Liaoning)

For the regarding authority must make sure that there are at least two pages on the passport for the Chinese Embassy to stick the Visa paper and Immigration to stick the resident permit paper
